Rich in history, Bainbridge
and Decatur County both have residential and commercial districts on
the National Register of Historic Homes. Decatur County also has the
nationally known Swine Time, the Riverside Artsfest and Attapulgus'
Dogwood Festival.
Surrounding counties offer Seminole State Park, Kolomoki Mounds State
Park, Colquitt (Mayhaw Capital and home of Swamp Gravy, Georgia's
Official Folk Life Play), the Tallahassee Museum of History and
Natural Sciences, Wakulla Springs, Georgia's Little Grand Canyon,
Pines Plantation Preserve, Birdsong Nature Center and more.
Bainbridge offers 6
elementary schools, 2 middle schools, a high school and a private
school. Post-secondary education is provided by Bainbridge College.
Close by are Florida State University and Florida A
& M University, in
Tallahassee, as well as
